HealthCall’s School Readiness Program utilizes the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to prepare children for the classroom. Each child’s one-on-one therapist maintains their individualized behavior and treatment plans while utilizing our group setting to acclimate children to the structure of a classroom. There is emphasis on listening and responding to one novel teacher, sitting in a group setting with minimal behaviors, working toward independent transitions between activities, and engaging and interacting with peers. Activities for young children include but are not limited to art, gross motor play, imaginary play, circle time, singing and dancing, and group mealtime. A Toilet Training Program is available, as needed and appropriate.
HealthCall’s curriculum is structured to mirror that of a preschool classroom with individualized goals derived from ABA assessment tools such as: the VB-MAPP and ABLLS-R. Together, our specialized staff sustain an enjoyable and learning-friendly environment for those in the program to gain new skills to prepare them for school.
